"You Got to Go Get It!" Mindset

Self Pity by D.H. Lawnrence

As I sit here on this rainy Wednesday, taking in ALL things life is giving us: good, bad, and indifferent, one thing comes to mind: "We all have the same 24". It is something that is repeated in different words and phrases, with the same meaning. People share it on social media, and, of-course, the phrase gets many likes, loves, and comments from people all around the world. Some people like it because they are agreeable; some people like it because they see motivation; some people like it because they recognize the transparency but do not follow up with action.

The current world stage and media has placed people in inconceivable situations, areas of discomfort. Understandable. But, I challenge you to not use the current situation as an excuse for not being who you could be, who you want to be, who you are destined to be. Shake off the mud of your past, wash yourself off, and operate like your success is essential as your next breath.
Do not go out into this world thinking someone is going to give you something because everything worth having will be earned. I recognize the playing field will never be level. Who is to say you have to play on the existing field. Create your own. It may not look like Yankee Stadium, the Falcons arena, or your high school's stadium, but, my friends, it will be YOURS. That is the point.

Many of us were not born with a silver spoon, and that is okay, because MY people are ingenious, crafty, and a have a history of making something from nothing. So, do not operate in this world system holding your head down, sitting in a place of envy and jealousy, feeling worthless. Your life matters and have value. "You are fearfully and wonderfully made!"

When Jesus was being talked about, misjudged, underestimated, and persecuted, did he complain? Naw. He just went about his father's business and handled his. When Demi Moore's character in G.I. Jane was being undervalued, beaten, and misunderstood, did she give up? Nope! And, all along, the person she thought was praying for her downfall was actually rooting for and challenging her. So, She made lemonade from less than a lemon.

I encourage you to do the same! Follow your dream. Write out your vision. Place images on your vision board. The Good Book says write it out and make it plain upon a tablet. Put it into the atmosphere. Believe it. Mindset is everything. Shake off the negativity and "get it poppn'". Tomorrow waits for no man! Choose ye this day-God gave you purpose and the lesser will throw anything at you to knock you off your square, anything to keep you from operating in your fullness. Remember that, please. So, when those negative thoughts enter. When fear rears its ugly head. Say, "Those are not my thoughts!"

Ownership! Accountability! Pride! Self Respect! Success!

-You deserve it all. You can have it all. Just keep swimming. Upstream is difficult, but you have what it takes. Upstream doesn't have the crowd, but you will see those who choose to create without limits.

In the words of William Ernest Henley's Invictus, "I am the the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul."
