6 Tips to Help You Combat the Negative Feelings From a Mid-Life Crisis

A mid-life crisis can easily lead you down a negative path. However, it usually just means you need some changes to redirect your life and find more positive energy. Tarmelinda Writes shares some easy tips to help you find balance and happiness.

1. Start Focusing on Your Health

Take a moment to assess your mental and physical health. Have you been so focused on work that you started to neglect diet, exercise, and self-care? Take the time you need to define your schedule so you can carve out time for physical activities and proper meals. Take the time to plan your meals and get ready for the week with shopping and prepping. Planning is the best way to ensure you have everything you need to stay on track.

2. Spend More Time Outdoors With Your Family

Family time and fresh air can make a significant difference in your attitude. Talk to your family about having outings each week where you can do something fun and new. If you live in an area with walkability, take a stroll around the neighborhood. Research shows that just five minutes of outdoor exercise can boost your mood, and it's an inexpensive way to create fun memories. Your family will appreciate it, and you'll feel more connected to nature.

3. Start Your Own Business

If your job is producing negative feelings, consider starting your career over. The ultimate dream is to work for yourself, so why not start your own business? Once you have an idea, form a business plan, including how you plan to structure your business. For example, most small startups form an LLC for tax advantages, liability protection, limited paperwork, and flexibility. Every state regulates LLCs differently, so learn how to start an LLC in your state or find an online formation service in your state to ensure you meet all the requirements. 4. Declutter Around the House

Living and working in clutter is a fast track to stress and negative energy. If you have a clutter problem around you, it's time to get organized. Start with the areas where you spend the most time. Talk to your family about the stress it causes you and enlist their help in getting everything in top shape. If the job is too overwhelming for all of you, don't be afraid to contact organizing specialists. Many have their own staff to help you get everything in better shape.

5. Socialize More Often

Humans are social creatures by nature. Even introverts need socialization, and not all socialization is the same. Some need it more than others, and some prefer to socialize at home, while others prefer to go out and socialize in public. However you feel most comfortable being around other people, do that at least a few times a month to stretch that muscle in your brain.

6. Take a Self-Care Day

Reward yourself with some time each week when you treat yourself throughout the day. Go shopping or spend a day at the spa where you can get relaxing treatments and have some time to self-reflect. If you prefer a new environment, go on a trip by yourself. Self-care is a personal journey. There is no wrong way to do it if it makes you happy.

A mid-life crisis is a passing problem. You fight the issue with positive changes in your life and focus on health and wellness. Whether you’re eating healthier, spending more time outdoors, or starting your own business, implement these changes slowly to see what works for you and what you don't need

New Identity-New Name

Ephesians 4:22-24
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Transformation: Whenever Biblical humans were transformed, a name change accompanied it. With the new name, came new purpose. One had to shed his or her old ways, and it was not easy, just because of the skin they and we walk in daily.

Notably, the name change was not always major, it would be a difference of a couple to a few letters at times, which signifies that even the most minute details matter, in life, in communication, in purpose, in action.

Just know when you change, improve, transform, mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, you no longer are bound by the thoughts of your former self, whether self imposed or otherwise. You are who and what you say you are according to the word.

You are strong, fierce, great, and more. Just believe. The personalities that encompass you, reminding you of who you used to be, must be pruned, so the new you can flourish. The things and ways that assisted in propagating the former identity shall be discarded because they have no place in your new space.

You are now a sanctuary. Respect it-you. Honor it-you.
