"Legacy, Legacy, Legacy, Legacy,
Black Excellence baby, you gon let 'em see
Legacy, Legacy, Legacy, Legacy,
Generational wealth, that's the key." (Sean Carter AKA Jay Z)
As I engaged in my daily self care, and considered my ways and ways of the world, an epiphany came to me: so many people subscribe to the concept and realization of generational wealth but not generational curses. Is it because of one's lens he or she chooses to view the one? Glass half full or empty? To denounce the plausibility is to denounce yin and yang, oil and water, and any other counter-forces that establishes a sense of balance.
Generational wealth is not exclusive to finances but is inclusive of knowledge, knowledge of self, knowledge of God or the creator, belief systems, work ethic, game, hustle, strategy, presence, and character.
Generational curses is not exclusive to a lack of finances but is inclusive of habits, ignorance, laziness, lack of accountability, character flaws, ineptitude, single parent homes, systemic dependency, and subscribing to concepts and precepts designed to box one in.
Many look to society for the next tweet, quote, meme, astrology prediction that, ostensibly, sums purpose or existence. People look fir external conditions to modify, perpetuate, justify or exemplify when the answers lie within. And, understand, we are multidimensional.
People look to celebrities, real, imagined, self-proclaimed and try to emulate when they are oblivious to the prices people have to pay to ascertain their position, status, or "wealth".
Has anyone ever considered that many have fallen into generational cycles and succumb to generational curses to attain the generational wealth? Remember, with different levels come different devils. Wealth and curses are no different than "the gift and the curse" (Jay Z reference).
So, speak life over yourself, your life, your loved ones, and your community. Know that those who seem to be full may really be empty!
If you transform your mindset, you will come to understand that building of wealth starts in the mind and inform our actions. In order to rebuke those curses and negative cycles, it will call for radical change and removal from your comfort zone. Understand that generational wealth and curses are cycles that have been inextricably bound. But, within you, you can ensure to fill the wealth cup, let it runneth over, while the curse cup bleed dry.
Remember, wealthy people plan for generations beyond their own. What you think, what you do, what you surround yourself with will impact your children, children's children, and beyond!
Change your mindset! You'll change your life! Positively!
Peace and Blessings
